Our 15-day Grand Tour will allow you to visit some of Hungary’s most desirable destinations. Throughout the trip, you will be exposed to the many facets of Hungarian history,culture, and cuisine. Sites on this tour include: Budapest, Danube Bend with Szentendre, Esztergom and Visegrad, Pannonhalma, Herend, Tihany, Heviz, Sumeg, Tapolca, Keszthely, Pecs, Hogyesz, Eger, Szilvasvarad, Lillafured, Tokaj, Holloko, and Godollo.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1

Arrive Budapest
Private airport transfer with meet and greet service to your hotel in Budapest for 2 nights. Welcome Dinner nearby with a view of the Danube and Buda Castle.

Day 2

Budapest
Budapest city tour, including the Castle District, dinner on boat with evening view of the city.

Day 3

Budapest – Danube Bend – Budapest
Danube Bend tour including visits to Esztergom, Visegrad and Szentendre.

Day 4

Budapest – Pannonhalma – Herend – Tihany – Heviz
Visit Pannonhalma, Herend factory, Tihany Abbey with view of Lake Balaton.
Includes: (B, L, Independent Buffett Dinner)

Day 5

Heviz – Sumeg – Tapolca – Heviz
Visit the medieval castle of Sumeg built high on a cliff. Lunch, and a short but relaxing cave boating in Tapolca. Free time to visit the thermal lake of Heviz.

Day 6

Heviz – Keszthely – Pecs – Hogyesz
Visit the Festetics Palace, walk around Siofok by Lake Balaton and enjoy the peaceful surroundings at Hogyesz.

Day 7

Hogyesz – Pecs – Hogyesz
Walking tour of the city of Pecs, free time to explore.

Day 8

Hogyesz – Lajosmizse – Eger
Travel to Eger via Lajosmizse where we will stop to enjoy an authentic “puszta” cooking and horse show.

Day 9

Eger
Tour Eger Castle and the city followed by free time or transfer for an independent afternoon visit to the nearby Lady of the Beautiful Valley wine region, or thermal spa of the Egerszalok Salt Hills.

Day 10

Eger – Szilvasvarad – Lillafured – Miskolctapolca
Lunch picnic in Szalajka Valley. Free time in Lillafured. Evening cave bathing at the thermal waters of Miskolctapolca.

Day 11

Lillafured – Tokaj – Tarcal
Visit to the Historical Tokaj Wine Museum then free time to visit this charming town. Private wine tasting of the world-famous Tokaj Aszu wine, followed by a dinner in the chateau.

Day 12

Tokaj – Holloko – Budapest
Tour and lunch in the historical village of Holloko and return to Budapest. Free time to explore the city.

Day 13

Budapest – Godollo – Budapest
Visit the Royal Palace in Godollo. Lunch at the world famous Gerbeaud Café. Free afternoon and evening in Budapest.

Day 14

Budapest
Spend the day exploring Budapest or take an optional tour. Gourmet farewell dinner with gypsy music.
